A video example on YouTube.com.... plenty to see!  Also check out Build It Solar's website for lots of green ideas.

Double check your notes from today's class and work on this over the weekend.   Specific questions for your topics are due no later than Tuesday!

STEM Topic Brainstorm:  What you should be thinking...

1.)  What have I thought about?  What have I researched?

2.)  What have I discussed with my partner?

3.)  What have we discussed with Ms. Glynn?

4.) Have I updated my STEM pages?    Complete through page 8 over the weekend.

STEM TOPIC REQUIREMENTS:

1.)  Is it testable?  Will you have real data?  Can it be repeated?  Replicated?  (this is not a book report that you will merely research.)

2.)  No surveys.  "Opinion science" isn't real.  No coke vs. pepsi or style preference "studies."

3.) If I google your question, will I find the answer?  If YES, move on!

4.)  Does your experiment require other people?  If YES, please reconsider - it will be harder to do, less reliable data, too may variables.  Try to do something only involving you and your partner = more control.

5.)  Is it expensive?   Will you be able to get materials?  Who will pay for this?

6.)  When will you experiment?  How much time will it take?  Will you work alone?  Meet?  Both?

7.)  Where will you experiment?  Do you have permission to be there?  How will you get there?

8.)  Is it unique?  If not, can you make it your own?  (stealing someone's idea is not the same as stealing someone's experiment).

9.)  Do you have a problem that needs fixing?   Maybe you could design a project around that.

10.)  Try to have fun!  If you work with something you already enjoy, this will be a much better experience!
