Greetings students and parents,

In 6th grade social studies we are wrapping up economics and moving on to our new region of study--Latin America and the Caribbean. I love teaching this unit because I was born in the Caribbean, Jamaica to be specific and I also love Spanish culture. We are going to have fun with this unit! In 7th grade, we are going to delve into culture and religion of Southern and Eastern Asia. We have 4 more belief systems (Hinduism, Buddhism, Shintoism, and Confucianism) in addition to the 3 we've already learned about (Judaism, Christianity and Islam). Students really struggle with categorizing the religions so we will spend some time on this standard to ensure mastery.

Tuesday- Rap/ economic growth illustrations

Wednesday- World map/ political map of Latin America + the Caribbean
