Dear Students and Parents,
We are now gearing up for the Georgia Milestones Assessment System, better known as the GMAS. Social studies is the final test. This is a good thing...and a bad thing. Students have more time to study and prepare for the test but they will also be mentally and physically exhausted.
Parents, please ensure that students are reviewing NIGHTLY, weekends, free time or whenever study time presents itself. I have multiple resources available for students to use: Canvas and USA test prep (students know how to log in), Quizlet.com, the interactive student notebook, and study guides students have been working on for the past 2 weeks in class.

In 6th grade social studies classes this week students will learn a government rap. My 1st and 6th period classes will have a party to celebrate meeting their class goals on QBA III. Over Spring Break, students will have a signature sheet that requires a parent signature if and ONLY if they witness their child study for the GMAS. It is due back to me Monday, March 29, 2016.
6th Grade:

In 7th grade social studies classes this week students are studying HARD for the GMAS. Students will complete a variety of activities such as an ISN scavenger hunt and Kahoot it for review and quizzes to gage mastery of standards.
7th Grade:

6th Grade this week:
In 6th grade social studies classes this week we are preparing to take our third Quarterly Benchmark Assessment or QBA for short. Students will be assessed on their knowledge of Canadian and Australian geography, government, economics as well as history.
