Greetings students and parents,

Welcome to 2016! It's a new year y'all and we have to hit the ground running. In just four short months, students will be taking the Georgia Milestones Assessment System (GMAS) test. This is a very rigorous test that requires students to think critically while reading, reasoning and responding to the questions. I take pride in my students doing very well on standardized tests but I need them to put in 100% effort and I always appreciate support from my wonderful parents. I will be providing more information on GMAS and how to succeed on the social studies portion throughout the year.

In 6th grade social studies classes this week we are going to review rules and procedures and then move into history of Latin America and the Caribbean.
