Hello all !

I hope that you're enjoying your well deserved weekend.!

On Monday, those students who've missed any part of the NYS Math exam, will take the part(s) that they have missed. We are coming to the home stretch and we will begin to review for the final exams starting some time next week. This Wednesday will be an optional dress down day for our students. There will be a $2 donation that will go towards supporting the eighth grade trip. I had given a chapter religion exam on Friday and my students did very well overall. Once again as a reminder, the ' spinner " toys are not allowed in the building. A  letter was sent home with your student last week and I've also have had a conversation about this as well. Any student in the possession of this toy in the upper grades ( including sixth grade) will be given an after school detention and the toy will be confiscated and will not be returned  until the last day of school as per Mr. Klice.

Once again, enjoy your weekend and as always feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Thank you,

Yours in Christ,

Mr. Maselli

Dear parents and students.

Good afternoon!

This week state Math exams will be given Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, May 2 - 4.

There will also be a half day on Friday, May 5th for students. Please make a note of it and please make arrangements for our students t be picked up.

Also, my students will be having a religion exam on Chapter 15 on Friday May 5th. I have assigned a take home pre-test to them on Friday. This swill help them prepare for the exam.

I will not be assigning any homework on Monday , Tuesday or Wednesday evening so that my students may relax and do some last minute studying for the math state exams.

Also, some of my students have i expressed a desire to apply for the Honor Society here at Nativity. These students have completed an essay and I will read the essays and fill out the appropriate forms for each of the essay writers. Unfortunately, the deadline was last Friday morning and I may not accept any more essays.

The nomination process is closed and the review portion has begun. This is a prestigious honor for students. All of the students who are excepted into the Honor Society will participate in as candle lighting ceremony and their names will be prominently displayed in our school.

Have a great weekend and as always please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Thank you,

Mr. Maselli

Good morning to all!

I hope everyone is enjoying their well deserved Easter break!

Classes resume on Monday, April 24th at regular time. Please be aware that we are going back to our summer uniforms starting Monday , April 24th.

It was nice to see some of my parents at Parent/Teacher conferences and it was also very nice for me to be able to share with you the progress and also the work that each of our students still need to do. When I took over the sixth grade class in the third week of September, some of  our students were very immature and lacked self discipline and initiative. Now, nearly 8 months later, I'm happy to say that many of those same student have grown, not only physically, but emotionally, mentally and spiritually as well. We still have work to do, but I am so delighted and thankful for the transformation of many of our students. Praise God ! It is my sincere hope that my students take along the life lessons that I have tried to teach them as well as the mandated curriculum.

We are in the home stretch and we will rise to the occasion. My prayers are that every student in every class that I teach, pass the course. It is definitely an achievable goal since about 93 % of all my students are passing.

As always, I am available for extra help in the mornings and sometimes in the afternoon, but my students must make an appointment with me for I do have many morning and afternoon responsibilities at Nativity.

In this last quarter, I will be giving many quizzes and tests. We will also be reviewing for the finals to ensure that my students achieve their absolute best.

As always, I am available to you for any questions, comments and/or suggestions.

I truly thank you for giving me the opportunity to work with your child and I hope that I can continue to do so next year.

It has truly been a learning experience and an opportunity for me to grow as a person and as an educator as well.

God Bless !

Mr. Maselli

P.S. The Easter packets are due also on Monday, April 24th.

Good morning !

This coming week will be a short one.

Monday will be a half day and we will have Parent/Teacher Conferences from 12:45 - 3:00. Please be aware that there aren't any evening hours.

But if you can't make it during the day, please feel free to contact me so that we can arrange a time to discuss our student's progress. Please do not just show up because I do have many responsibilities in the morning and after school and unless we arrange a time to meet , I may not be able to talk.

Tuesday will be a full day and then once again Wednesday, there will be a half day. Dismissal on the half days are 12:00 noon.

All of my classes will be receiving an Easter packet which will be graded as an exam. This packet is due back on April 24th, 2017. For every day that the packet is late, 10 points will be deducted from the total grade. There will not be any exceptions made to  the due date.

My sixth grade will be having an essay exam  in Social Studies on  Chapter 5, lessons 1-4 pages, 146 - 171. During this chapter, I had given a quiz after each lesson to ensure my student's  comprehension. This essay exam will consist of 4 questions. One question from each dynasty. This is a full exam and will be given on Monday.

We have reviewed for the exam in class on a couple of occasions.

Please enjoy your well earned vacation and remember the reason for this vacation.

Our Lord has risen !

God Bless you and your families and Happy Easter.

Yours in Christ,

Mr. Maselli
