Welcome back parents and students.
7th graders will begin reading Monster by Walter Dean Myers, 6th graders will begin reading The Great and Only Barnum: The Tremendous, Stupendous Life of Showman P. T. Barnum by Candace Fleming.
Students should bring a 1 inch binder with 6 dividers to class for second semester.

Parents: this week our students in the 7th grade will be viewing the film, Selma, and comparing it to our novel, While the World Watched. The permission form is due to Mrs. Robinson Tuesday December 15, no exceptions. Students who will not be viewing the film will work on a parallel assignment addressing our novel.
6th graders are making a figurative language book from notes they are taking Monday and Tuesday.

Good morning parents and students,
This week both 6th and 7th graders will be QBA testing in ELA on Thursday for Mrs. Robinson. They are also working on essay writing, 6th grade: family essay, and 7th grade argumentative essay.
Grades will be posted end of next week for semester averages which will be permanent. Students need to turn in all assignments on time.
7th graders are working on their reflection journals which are due December 11. We are reading our novel While the World Watched, students should be reading at home.
6th graders are working on review vocabulary origins, elements of a story, verbs tenses, and also reading their novel House on Mango Street.
