Parents and Students

We have made it to February. Students are working on their writing skills and standards knowledge. USATestPrep is a support study guidance program which guides and assist students to understand the knowledge and terminology of the standards. Students have been given their log in and passwords. Please continue to work outside of school. Assignments have a closing date and the grades will be entered into Infinite Campus.

Students should continue to read library books on their levels. Lexiles are the reading level in which our students are assessed on to gauge their base line for growth with vocabulary and reading. Students will be working on their lexile forms next week to be signed and returned.

As we begin to have more assignments I will be posting documents for anyone who may have missed something.

Keep up the good work.

Good morning parents and students,

This week our 7th graders will be focusing on how to analyze the interactions between individuals, events, and ideas in a text; the structure an author uses; and produce a clear and coherent writing. We are continuing with our novel, Monster.

This week our 6th graders will detemine the meaning or words through context clues, producing a clear and coherent writing, as well as drawing information from literary text.

We are coming down to the wire with our standards. Student need to be present each day to continue learning and growing.

Each class has been assigned activities in USA test prep. Each student does know their own log in and should be working at home on these assignments as well as at home. Missing assignments are due by Thursday. Students will need to complete any assignment they are missing immediately. Tutoring is not for making up work, it is for assisting in extra support with standards and concepts the students may not fully understand.

Let's have a great week.

Hello parents and students: this week we start block scheduling on Tuesday and Wednesday. This will enable students to have more direct instruction time. Our 7th graders are continuing with their novel, Monster, and will begin writing prompts by the end of the week. Our 6th graders are working on their novel about PT Barnum, as well as, their poetry introductions.

Looking forward to a great week.
