October 5-26, 2011
Reading: Read every night for 15 mins. Do 6 reading journal entries (2 per week). Go over new and old sight words every night. Make flashcards for new sight words.

Language: Write a story using all of your sight words (old and new). Write a sentence for each new sight word. Don't forget to circle your sight words. Choose 10 sight words that begin with a different letter and write them in alphabetical order (abc order).
Math: Do math assignments on addition and subtraction.
P.S. Please send in cooking/science project money by Wed., October 26th. Your child is starting to cook once a week and only the students that pay for their projects will be participating. Science experiment center will also begin after Fall Break.

Reading: Read every night for 15 mins. Do two reading jounals by Wednesday, October 5th. Make flashcards for the new sight words and practice all of your sight words every night.

Language: Do assignments on "Telling Sentences" and "ABC Order." Write sight word sentences 5 times each.
P.S. If your child hasn't brought in their money ($2.00) please send it by Friday, September 30th. We will be cooking the following week.

Reading: Read every night for 15 mins. Do two (2) reading journal entries. Make flashcards for new sight words and practice reading all of your sight words on a daily basis.
Sight Words: three she to two up
Math: Do math assignments on single-digit addition and subtraction. Do assignments on "Patterns".
Writing/Language: Do assignments on "Following Directions", "ABC Order" and "Sight Word/Rhyming". *Assignments: Choose 10 sight words and write them in alphabetical order (abc order).
P.S. Remember Scholastic Book Club Orders and cooking/science project money is due by Wednesday, September 28th.
Cooking Project: Mini personal pizzas.

Writing: Write sight word sentences once every night. (Total of 5 times each sentence) Do ABC order assignment. *Paper is being provided for sight word sentences.
Math: Do math assignments on single-digit addition and subtraction.
P.S. Scholastic Book Orders are due by Wednesday, September 28th. Science/cooking project money is also due by Wednesday, September 28th. Our 1st cooking and science project was a success! 
Amount due is $2.00.

Do two reading journals by Friday. Practice sight words from previous weeks and this week's too. Make flashcards for new sight words. Read and write sight word sentences once every night. (3 times total)
**Dictation Test on sight word sentences on Wednesday, September 7th.
