Homework Assignments
February 16-23, 2011
Reading: Read every night for 15 mins. Make sure to include your sight words as part of your daily reading. Do one journal entry.
Math: Do assignments on "Double-digit addition" and "Adding three addends".
Sight Words of the Week:

Assignment: Write 10 sentences using the sight words above. The sight words may be used more than once.
Language: Do assignments on long vowels. (a, e, i, o, u)

Homework Assignments
February 9-16, 2011
Reading: Read every night for 15 mins. Read your sight words as part of your daily reading make sure to include the sight words of prior weeks. Do one reading journal entry.
Language: Write 10 words that have a long a sound and 10 words that have the long i sound. Remember long vowels say their name. Then write a complete sentence using the correct capitalization and punctuation. (All sentences begin with a capital letter and end with a ., ?, or !) Math: Do assignment on adding three addends and finding the missing number to make each equation true.
Sight words of the week:
at, an, ran, him, be, get, like, say, so let, had, to, big
*Students are tested on writing and reading the sight words on a weekly basis.

Assignment: Make a tally chart showing the times that you saw and read the sight words of the week in your reading selection of the week.

Math: Do math assignment on "Equal or Not Equal". Practice addition and subtraction facts on a daily basis. Do "Get Into Shape" assignment and "Drawing Shapes".
Language: Do assignment on Short vowel e. Do assignment on Short vowels a, i, u, o, e.
Sight Words of the Week:

Assignment: Read the enclosed book to a family member or friend. Then circle the sight words include the sight words of previous weeks. Underline the consonant blends that you find. Name of book "Twists on Tag".
