Homework Assignments
August 8-15,2012
Reading: Read every night for 15 mins. Do two (2) reading journal entries, 1-2 sentences per section. You as a parent may write the sentence however, your child must rewrite it underneath.
Math: Do math assignments. The math assignment must be turned in daily. For example: The assignment that is labeled Monday is due on Tuesday and so on.
Writing: Complete student information sheet. You may add anything that I must know about your child. Do writing assignments on paper provided.
1. Write first and last name 5x's each every night.
2. Write the alphabet once every night (uppercase and lowercase).
*Use your best handwriting :)
Math Assignments:
*Do the assignments on the paper provided. Make sure to write the day of the week and your name at the upper right hand corner. Don't forget the date.
Wednesday: 8/8/12-Write the numbers 0-120 one time.
Thursday 8/9/12-Write the numbers counting by 2's, 5's,10's up to 120 one time each.
Friday 8/10/12: Write the number and number word next to the number. Ex: 1-one
Do numbers 1-20.
Monday 8/13/12: Write your address 5 times. Your address must have the following:
1. Number and street/avenue name.Apartment number if any.
2. City, state, zip code
Tuesday 8/14/12: Write the following sentence and complete it. (5 times)
My birthday is ________.
Example: My birthday is August 8, 2006.

Math: Do assignemnts on "Bar Graphs". Read the questions carefully before answering them.
Writing: Do assignments on hard and soft "c" and "g".
Remember: When the "g" or "c" is followed by e, i, or y, the sound is usually a soft sound. When the "g" or "c" is followed by an a, o, or u the sound is usually a hard sound.
Soft sound of c is /s/
Soft sound of g is /j/
Hard sound of c is /k/
Hard sound of g is /g/

Writing: Do grammar minute worksheets. Then use the words in a sentence. You should have a total of 20 sentences. Circle the word used in each.
P.S. If you have not turned in your cooking/science project money please do so by Thursday, May 10th. We will be making chocolate banana popsicles on Friday, May 11th.

Writing: Write spelling words 5X's each. Write a sentence for each of your spelling words. Do reading comprehension assignment, "The Squirrel". Do "Inflectional Endings" assignment.
Math: Do Math assignments on word problems-Addition or Subtraction.
P.S. Cooking/science experiment money due by Thursday, May 3rd. We will be making salsa on Friday, May 4th. Therefore, if you want your child to participate, make sure he/she brings in $2.00 by Thursday, May 3rd.
