October 31-November 7, 2012
Reading: Read every night for 20 mins. Do two reading journal entries per week. Practice reading your memory words. Make flashcards for new memory words.
Math: Do math assignments on subtraction. (double-digit number on top and single-digit number on the bottom)
Writing: Write a sentence for each memory word. Write your memory words in ABC order then add an "s" at the end of each word to make it in the present tense/plural. Do comprehension skills assignments.
Memory words: buckle freckle puzzle sizzle tackle twinkle pickle kettle sprinkle drizzle

Memory Words: mumble pebble scribble stumble tumble wobble giggle juggle snuggle squiggle handle middle puddle riddle saddle
Math: Do math assignments on single-digit subtraction, place value and writing numbers 1-120. Write numbers on the back side of the place value worksheet.
Writing: Write a sentence for each new memory word. Write memory words in ABC order.
P.S. Scholastic Book Orders Forms due Monday, October 29th. Don't forget to send Book Blast items by Monday, Oct. 29th. Thanks, Mrs. Chavez

Writing: Do assignments on Asking Sentences, ABC order, and Synonyms. Also, write a telling and asking sentence for each of your memory words and write a story one page long using new and old memory words. Be detailed and creative. :) Choose one of your favorite books and on a piece of paper write the words that have one of the following consonant blends or digraphs: sh, ch, tch, wh, th, ng, le. Then write them in alphabetical order. (abc order) If the words begin with the same letter, then look at the second letter and so on.
P.S. Have an awesome Fall Break!!! Be safe!!:) School resumes Monday, October 22nd.

Writing: Write a story using all of your memory words. Circle the memory words, underline the following consonant digraphs when used. (sh, ch, tch, the, wh) Write a sentence for each memory word last week's only. Then circle the nouns and underline the verb.
Math: Do math assignments on addition and Minute Math 16-20.
P.S. We will be starting our cooking center this week! Yeepee :)
