Sight Word Assignment: Find an article in the newspaper. Then circle the sight words of the week and the ones from last week too. (a, and, can, come, did, do, go, from, up, on, down, went, he, she).
Math: Do assignments on "Fact Families".
Language: Do assignments on short a and Short ie. Do assignment on beginning and ending a sentence review "Minute 12".
P.S. cooking and Science experiment money is due on Wednesday, January 19th. Amount due $2.00 will cover both projects.

Reading: Read every night for 15 mins. Do one journal entry in reading journal per week.
*New Assignment for Sight Words: Practice reading the sight words of the week. By the end of this quarter your child should be able to recognize and read the first two columns of the "Dolch Words" list that was sent home with your child over the Winter break. Therefore, every week your child will need to turn in a newspaper article of their choice. Your child is to circle the sight words of the week and turn it in on a weekly basis. New words will be added weekly.

Language: Do assignments on "R" and "L" blends. Do sequencing assignment "Ready for School".
P.S. Scholastic Book Clubs orders are due by January 12th with your child's homework.

Reading: Read every night for 15 mins. Do three reading journal entries. Practice reading the sight words as part of your daily reading. You may make flashcards for the sight words.
Math: Practice addition and subtraction facts. Make flashcards for addition and subtraction facts.

P.S. Remember that on Friday, December 10th the items for the gingerbread houses are due. Every student needs to bring a box of graham crackers with NO CINNAMON and the items requested on the newsletter that was sent home with your child's homework last week. Items requested _______________. We will begin our gingerbread house project on Monday, December 13th. Make sure your child is at school so that he/she won't miss out on this fun activity. Thank you for your support! Also on Friday, December 17th our classroom will having the book gift exchange, make sure your child brings it in no later than Wednesday, December 15th. Your child may bring cookies, cupcakes, drinks, chips, etc. to share with the class. Remember to send enough for 35 students. Thank you, Mrs. Chavez
