Cadets & Parents,

This week we will be finishing up U1L2. Our test is scheduled for this Friday 3/9. This will be our last chapter test of the marking period!! I will be available after school on Wednesday and Thursday for cadets needing extra help.

Next week, we will be completing an in-class writing prompt and presentation for a summative grade based on concepts learned in U1L1 and U1L2. We will also be completing a mini chapter over the next two weeks (3/14-3/21 ... after finishing U1L2) before the midterm exam. The "quest" on this mini unit will be the last summative grade for the MP. This means that over the next three weeks, we have 3 summative grades. Please make them count!! As a reminder, I do not offer extra credit or retakes.

Note on U1L1 test correction grades: If you have an MI listed, that means you either did not complete the assignment or you did and it still has mistakes that need to be corrected. Please see me ASAP during study hall or after school to fix and resubmit and/or complete the assignment. These may not be taken home.

We are now in the home stretch here with the Marking Period ending on 3/21. It sounds like a while away but with special schedules next week due to Annual Inspection, it will be here before you know it! Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Sra.

Cadets,

Our summative evaluations for this unit will take place 2/22-2/26. This Thursday/Friday will be dedicated to the writing prompt and Monday will be used for our discussion day. Please make every effort to be here on those days. If you were absent and need to borrow the movie, please see me ASAP.

Cadets & Parents,

I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend! This week, we will be finishing up U1L1. Our U1L1 chapter test is scheduled for THIS FRIDAY 2/23. I will be available for extra help after school on Tuesday and Thursday this week after school.

A LOT of cadets have been out recently due to illness. Please be sure that when you are out, you meet with me about the work you missed. MI assignments in HAC need to be made up. It is also a good idea to get any notes you can from fellow cadets and utilize the e-textbook resources while you are at home to try and keep up. With that in mind, we desperately need TISSUES and DISINFECTING WIPES! (I have plenty of hand sanitizer). If you are willing and able, please consider donating one or both of these items to our classroom as they are currently being used by cadets daily and my stash donated from 1st semester cadets is almost gone.

Thanks!! Sra.

Cadets & Parents,

We are officially through our first chapter and half way through the Markign Period! Today in class we will complete our presentations (summative grade) and begin U1L1. Today Cadets will create vocabulary sheets and we will have a vocab quiz on Thursday, 2/15. As a reminder, the e-textbook has practice quizzes and flashcards to help cadets prepare and study at home. For specific directions on how to find these resources, check out a directions document posted under the files tab.

Interim reports will be sent home today. Parent teacher conferences are currently being schedule for Friday morning (7:30-10:30). If you are interested in scheduling a conference, please contact me ASAP ([email protected]). If you are struggling, please be sure to take advantage of help after school. This week, I will be available on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Last but not least, please be sure if you missed the test on Friday, that you make it up ASAP. You can take it during study hall (4th block) or after school Wednesday or Thursday.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Sra.

Cadets/Parents,

Please don't forget to have a parent or guardian sign the movie permission slip. Our next move, Diarios de Motocicleta (The Motorcycle Diaries) is Rated R. If you lost your copy, another copy is available under the "Files" tab.

If you are interested in knowing more information about the "R" rating, please visit this website for a breakdown. The primary reason is for foul language. There are also scenes that contain kissing and make sexual inferences. The car scene described will not be viewed!! Motorcycle Diaries _ Rating Explanation

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns! Have a great weekend!
