Cadets and Parents,

This will be our last full week of school before the end of the year. This week we will work on learning about Comparatives in Spanish, we will delve deeper into SER v ESTAR, and we will review for our U3L2 test which will be held on Thursday, May 23rd.  I will be available after school on Monday and Wednesday this week.

Next week will be a short week, as we have Memorial Day on Monday, and the Bell Ringing Ceremony on Friday. We will be working on a writing prompt/presentation that will count as a summative grade, and we will review for the Final Exam, which is both oral and written.  I will be after school for help on Tuesday and Wednesday, the 28th and 29th.

Finally, some important information regarding exemptions and Final Exams:

Exemptions - Any Cadets that earned an A in both marking periods AND on the Midterm Exam are exempt from the Final Exam. All students that qualify will be notified.

Final Exam – All Cadets that are not exempt are required to take the Final Exam, which consists of two parts. Part one is oral and will be administered on Tuesday, June 4th during class.  Each Cadet will be interviewed by the teacher, and the Potential Interview Questions will be given out in class the week prior.  Cadets may NOT use any notes during the interview, so make sure to review, study & practice beforehand.  Part two will be written and will be given during the scheduled exam periods on Wednesday & Thursday, June 5th and 6th.  It will be a culmination of all vocabulary, grammar and concepts taught throughout the semester.

It has been a pleasure working with you this semester. Have a wonderful and safe Summer!

Sra. Lennon

Cadets and Parents,

We are down to the last full month of classes, and the end of the year is fast approaching.  Last week we had the U2L2 Vocabulary quiz, and then began working with the verb IR. This week we will continue learning the different uses of IR, as well as work heavily with Interrogatives, with the goal of being able to successfully ask and answer questions linking both subjects.  We will also review relevant vocabulary and prepare for the U2L2 Test, which will be given this Friday.  I will be available for tutoring on Tuesday and Thursday of this week.

For the week of May 13th, we will begin U3L2, which deals with the Family Unit, Possession, Dates/Ages and reviewing the verb SER.  Our quiz is slated for Thursday that week, and I will be available for tutoring on Tuesday the 14th and on Wednesday the 15th.

We have 3 solid weeks prior to the Memorial Day holiday, so let's keep our focus!

Hello Everyone!  I hope that everybody is enjoying a nice Spring Break and the warmer weather.  On Monday we will be focusing on reviewing the quiz topics we were working on prior to the Break.  On Tuesday, we will have the U2L2 Vocab quiz (school objects vocab/places in the school, the verb Estar and feelings, as well as interrogatives and prepositional phrases).  We will then continue working with Interrogatives and with the verb Estar, as well as delve into the verb IR.  I will be available for tutoring this upcoming Monday and Tuesday, and then for the week of May 6th, I will be available on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

We have a short week coming up due to Friday Prom, and May is just around the corner, so we are entering the Home Stretch.  Let's keep our focus and get you well prepared to finish out the year strong!

Cadets and Parents,

Hola!  My name is Veronica Lennon and I will be the long-term substitute for Señora White.  I have had the pleasure of shadowing Señora White for a few days before she went on maternity leave, and I officially began teaching her class on 4/4th

Last Friday we took our U2L1 test, and this week we began learning to conjugate present tense regular ER and IR verbs.  We will have a Verb Quiz this Friday dealing with correct conjugation for sentence formation, as well as related vocabulary. Looking ahead to the upcoming week of 4/15-4/18, we will be working on and giving presentations using the vocabulary and grammar that we have learned thus far, as well as beginning the U2L2 section of the book.

I will be available after school for tutoring on Thursday and Friday of this week (4/11 & 4/12) and on Tuesday and Wednesday (4/16 & 4/17) of the following week.

I look forward to teaching your children!  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Señora Lennon

Parents,

As your cadets are well aware, I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my second baby girl in early April. Wednesday, April 3rd will be my last day at DMA for this school year.

Veronica Lennon has been hired as a long term substitute and will be teaching my classes for the remainder of the school year. Senora Lennon has been shadowing me over the past two weeks to help easy the transition between teachers. She will continue to update this school notes page and HAC. Please be patient as we get her up and running in the system. She will have a DMA e-mail address and access to HAC in order to continue posting grades, but there may be a lag over the next week or so as we transition. For any immediate concerns after April 3rd, please contact Ms. Urquhart at [email protected].

It has been a pleasure working with your cadets this year and I hope that they continue to work hard and enjoy Spanish class for the remainder of the school year.

Sra.
