Good Morning Cadets & Parents,

Unfortunately, I had to leave school early yesterday due to illness but I'm back today! Obviously, it would not have been fair to keep the test originally schedule for today, so I postponed it until tomorrow. In class today we completed the following activities which are exactly like sections on the test as a review. I included them below for anyone who is absent or would like to review them again on the e-textbook tonight.

Vocab (p. 51) - p. 52#2

Subject Pronouns (p. 37) - p. 38 #6

Ser (p. 37) p. 38 #7, p. 39. #8 and p. 53 #3

Gustar (p. 42) - p. 43 #13 and p. 53 #4

I also will make myself available today during study hall and after school since I was not able to stay yesterday.

If you have any questions or concerns please reach out ASAP.

Looking forward, we will begin U1L2. We will have a vocabulary quiz next week (week of 3/2) and a test the following week (week of 3/19). It's hard to believe it, but the end of the marking period is quickly approaching on Wednesday 3/18.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Sra.

Cadets and Parents,

It's hard to believe that it is the end of February already! We are well into the marking period and now is a great time to check HAC. You should now have a pretty good idea of how you are doing with 2 summative grades and numerous formative grades. If you are not happy with where you are, please see me for some extra help before our next set of assessments. Also, be sure that you do not have any MI assignments and if you do please make them up ASAP. My gradebook is completely up to date.

Our U1L1 Vocab Quiz is scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday 2/19) and our Chapter Test is scheduled for next Tuesday, 2/25. I will be available for extra help afterschool on Tuesday 2/18, Thursday 2/20 and Monday 2/24. In addition to help after school, don’t forget about all of the practice and study tools available to you on the e-textbook.

After the test on 2/25, we will only have one more test remaining for the marking period. As a reminder, the marking period ends on March 18th.

As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns.

Sra.

Cadets and Parents,

We are in full swing now with a few formative grades in the books and summative grades coming up quickly. As a reminder, interims go home on Monday, so if you are missing any work or have any grade related questions please see me before Friday! This week we will continue working on Leccion Preliminar and our first two summative grades will be next week. We will have our first test next Tuesday 2/11. In addition to the test, we will also be working on an in class summative grade which will be a presentation.

Last week Cadets received login information for the Avancemos e-textbook and we did a few practice activities to help them get familiar with how to use it. There are TONS of study resources on this website and it's a great way to practice/study. If you are having trouble finding the available practice and/or flashcards, check out the document posted on this school notes page under the Files Tab about Utilizing the Online Textbook.

Parent/Teacher conferences are now being scheduled for Friday, 2/14 from 7:30-12:00. If you are interested in scheduling a conference, please reach out to me via e-mail ASAP ([email protected]).

Last but not least, WE NEED DONATIONS! If you can spare a box of tissues or container of disinfectant wipes it would be much appreciated! We are trying our best to keep these coughs and cold contained, but my supplies are running low. With 80+ cadets coming in and out of my room everyday, if even just half donate ONE item we will be stocked for the rest of the year - thanks for your help!

I will be available for help on Thursday, Friday and next Monday for those cadets interested in getting help before our first test. As always if you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Sra.

Cadets & Parents,

Welcome again to DMA!

Some things to know about Week 1: The first week will focus on geography and there will be a Map Quiz on Monday, January 27th. On Tuesday, a class syllabus was  distributed. Please be sure to review it. It outlines grading policies and course expectations. There is also a digital copy in the downloads section of my schoolnotes page. Also on the syllabus you can find what materials you will need for Spanish. There will be a materials check on Monday, January 27th.

Please be sure to check this page often! If you click the notify me link (on the main page)you will receive e-mail notifictions when I post new items. Typically, I'll post weekly/bi-weekly about my after-school availability and any upcoming tests or quizzes.

Looking forward to a great second semester!

Sra. White
