Cadets & Parents,

We are off and running. This week we will be working on useful classroom phrases and pronunciation. On Friday, we will have a useful phrases quiz. I will be available after school on Wednesday and Thursday after school for anyone needing extra help or has work to make up. There will also be a materials check at some point this week so please make sure you have what you need for Spanish class. We are also in desperate need to wipes and tissues. Thank you to those who have already donated!

Next week, we will begin Leccion Preliminar (LP) in the textbook which focuses on basic introductory conversations. Our test will likely take place the week of Feb. 18th. I will be available after school on Tuesday and Wednesday those two weeks as well (2/5, 2/6, 2/12 & 2/13).

As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns.

Sra.

Cadets & Parents,

iBienvenidos!

I hope everyone is enjoying their new 2nd semester classes. Please check out the "Files" tab for a copy of the syllabus and other useful information that we reviewed this week in class. This week we have focused our attention on the countries and capitals of Spanish speaking countries and we have our 1st quiz tomorrow. Be sure to use the study tools found under the "links" tab to help you study. Next week we will focus on useful classroom phrases and will likely have a quiz on those on Friday. Stay tuned for more information next week, but please feel free to reach out to me directly with any questions!

Looking forward to a great semester!

Sra.

Cadets & Parents,

This is it! Friday we have our last test on U3L2 and we will also begin our writing prompts following the test. On Monday, we will finish them up in class (CADETS WILL NOT BE WORKING ON THESE AT HOME OVER THE WEEKEND). The prompt is a 75 point summative grade and the test is 100 points summative. These are the last two grades for the MP.

Any and all MI assignments need to be completed/turned in by 3:00 on Tuesday 1/15. Anything missing after that point will be a zero.

Today in class we talked about the final exam. Be sure to check out the files tab for useful resources. There will be a speaking portion completed in class on Tuesday and the remainder of the exam is multiple choice and will be given during the scheduled exam block.

I will be available Wednesday and Thursday this week as well as Monday next week (1/14) for tutoring after school.

Thanks for a great semester & BUENA SUERTE with your new classes next MP!

Sra.

Cadets & Parents,

This week we have a presentation (Monday) and a vocab quiz (Thursday). Rubrics for the presentation were distributed in class on Friday. Please be sure you follow the instructions. There will be no time in class tomorrow to work on them (which was also discussed on Friday). Please be prepared tomorrow!! Following the presentations, we will begin our U3L2 vocabulary list and we will have a quiz on those words Thursday. This vocab quiz will be the last major formative grade of the marking period. We will have a summative test on U3L2 the second week we are back from break, date TBD.

If you need help after school or have work to make up, I will be available Monday and Wednesday this week.

Sra.

Cadets & Parents,

The countdown is on, but we still have a lot to get done before the break! Friday, Dec. 14th will be our test on U2L2. There will only be one more test (after the break) before the end of the MP. I will be available after school for tutoring on Wednesday and Thursday.

With the cold weather, comes lots of coughs and runny noses. Our tissues and wipes are going fast! If you are out holiday shopping, consider making a donation of tissues or disinfectant wipes if you haven't already. Thank you again to all of the families who donated at the start of the year - the cadets use and appreciate them!!!

Interim grades go home today (Friday 12/7) and grades are up to date! Please be sure if you see MI's in HAC they need to made up ASAP! As always, please reach out if you have any questions or concerns!

Have a great weekend! -Sra.
