Cadets & Parents,

The next two weeks are very choppy! While we all love days off from school, please keep in mind that it is extremely important that you are using your time off wisely. Please considering spending a few minutes each day reviewing and practicing on the online textbook! This is the best way to keep everything “fresh” as we prepare for our U1L1 Chapter Test on 10/12.

Tomorrow is our vocabulary quiz! The quiz is 40 points and is mostly multiple choice, with some T/F and matching. The practice quizzes online are in the same format as the quiz questions. Please be sure to utilize these practice quizzes and the online flash cards. You will also have time in class on 10/10 to use the e-text resources in class to prepare for the test. Please bring head phones and be sure to know your username and password!

This week I will be available after school today (Monday), Tuesday and Thursday. Next week I am only available Thursday 10/12, due to a Staff Meeting on 10/10. If you have transportation, I am willing to offer tutoring after PSAT’s on Wednesday afternoon, but please contact me if you are interested in staying. Dismissal on Wednesday is early, following the completion of testing.

As always, don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions!

Sra.

Cadets and Parents, Tomorrow (Tuesday, September 26th) we have our first test on Leccion Preliminar. We have spent the last two class periods working on a cumulative review so all cadets know what is expected of them tomorrow. Please continue to use the study resources available via the e-textbook. I will also be available today after school for extra help. The remainder of the week will be spent beginning the next chapter, U1L1 (Unidad 1, Leccion 1). Our vocabulary quiz is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, October 3rd and our test is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, October 12th. Again these dates are TENTATIVE. I will confirm theses dates once we get closer. A few more donations of tissues and wipes came in last week so thank you to those families for donating to our classroom! We are still especially in need to disinfectant wipes. If you are willing and able, please considered sending something in with your cadet in the near future. As always, if you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact me. Happy Homecoming Week! Sra.

Happy Friday Everyone!

Next week in Spanish class we will officially begin the first Chapter, Leccion Preliminar. At this point, HAC is completely up to date. Please take some time this weekend to view the posted grades. We are now a week and a half away from the half way point of the marking period (1/4 of the way through the course! Crazy, I know!). Please be sure that if you are (or your cadet is) struggling in Spanish (or any course) PLEASE ASK FOR HELP! Next week, I will be available for tutoring after-school M-TH.

On Monday, we will be creating a vocabulary sheet with our words for the chapter and spend the week talking about basic introductory conversations. Our first test will be Tuesday, 9/26. There are vocabulary flashcards available for this chapter on the e-textbook. For step by step instructions on how to find e-textbook resources, please download the “Utilizing the Online Textbook” document found under the “Files” tab on this School Notes page.

As always, please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Hope everyone has a great “fin de semana”!

Sra.

Cadets and Parents,

We have a busy first full week ahead! I will be available for help after-school on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week.

Scores from last week’s Map Quiz are now posted on HAC. For any Cadet who is unhappy with their score, I will offer a ONE TIME ONLY re-take opportunity afterschool on Wednesday. It is incredibly important we start out on the right foot, so please take advantage of this opportunity if you need to. Future tests and quizzes will not have a re-take option, this is a one-time only deal. Cadets interested in re-taking the quiz should report to FH-2 promptly at 2:45 and will finish no later than 3:15.

This week we will be focusing on useful classroom phrases, the alphabet and pronunciation. On Thursday, we will have a quiz on the Useful Phrases covered in class on Friday/Monday. Looking ahead to next week, our first test will likely be Friday, September 22nd. Please be sure not to fall behind and get help if you need it!

Lastly, THANK YOU to Cadet Kuennen for donating tissues and wipes to our classroom! It’s not too late and no donation is too small for anyone that is willing and able to donate supplies to our class.

As always, please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. I look forward to meeting all of the parents at Back to School Night on Thursday!

Sra.

Bienvenidos a la clase de espanol!

Here is where you will find my weekly updates about what we have going on in class. In addition to giving you a general overview of what we will be accomplishing for the week, I will remind you of dates for upcoming tests/quizzes and my after school availability. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me via e-mail at [email protected]. I look forward to meeting all of the Cadets this week and their parents at Back to School Night on Thursday, September 14th.

This week in class, we will be reviewing classroom expectations and the map of Spanish speaking countries. We will have a map quiz on Friday. Please check out the "Links" tab for helpful map study tools! For the quiz, cadets will need to know all of the countries, their location on the map and their capitals. We will be practicing and reviewing in class on Wednesday and Thursday.

On Tuesday, all cadets will receive e-textbook logins. Please be sure to sign in to make sure you are able to gain access. If you are having trouble or do not have reliable internet access, please let me know ASAP. I have a limited amount of textbooks that can be signed out for use at home.

Looking forward to a great year of Spanish together!

Sra.
