Greetings, 

This week in ELA Patriot News, the students will focus on text annotation.  When annotating the text, students will cite textual evidence, identify central ideas, as well as provide an objective summary.   Library day is Friday.  Don't forget to return and check out books!  Also, some of the students will be going on a field trip Thursday.

Greetings, 

This week in ELA Patriot News, the students will continue their journey focusing on perception and reality. Students will demonstrate magic tricks in class as well as analyze magic and its perception within the brain. They will be reading "Saving the Lost" from the Close Reader.  While reading "Saving the Lost," students will cite textual evidence, identify central ideas, as well as provide an objective summary.  The article of the week is "Patriots Wide Receiver's Proudest Achievement."

This week in ELA Patriot News, the students will wrap up analyzing the structure used to organize a text, including text features.  They will be reading the article, "Saving the Lost."  While reading the article, students will cite textual evidence, identify central ideas, as well as provide an objective summary.  Also, academic vocabulary will be given as homework this week.  Library day is Friday.  Don't forget to return and check out books!
