This week in ELA Patriot's news, students will analyze how a poem's form contribute to its meaning.  Also, they will be able to identify the characteristics of a poem.  Students will have academic vocabulary for homework Tuesday.  Please allow your student to complete Achieve 3000 articles at home.

This week in ELA Patriot's news, students will take an assessment on the folktale, "People that Could Fly."  Students will be identifying the characteristics of poetry as well as analyze how a poem's form contribute to its meaning.  Finally, students will research and read the works of Yeats and Shakespeare.  Homework will be assigned Wednesday and Thursday.

This week in ELA Patriot's news, teachers will begin implementing the new initiative, Weekly Reader.  The purpose of the Weekly Reader is to help increase student's Lexile level.  We will continue to read the folktale, "People that Could Fly." While reading, we will annotate the text. After reading, we will apply the elements of a folktale to the story.  For homework this week, students are highly advised to complete Achieve 3000 articles.

This week in ELA Patriot's news, all students will be taking the eight parts of speech assessment.  Also, the students will be learning about perception vs reality.  As the week comes to an end, we will be reading the folktale, "People Who Can Fly."  Homework will be assigned Tuesday and Wednesday.

This week in ELA Patriot's news, all students will be taking the level set to determine their Lexile score.  Also, we will continue to discuss the eight parts of speech.  Homework will be assigned Tuesday.  Finally, students will be taking a test on the eight parts of speech Friday.
