Week of Sept. 10 - 15
Hello Parents and Students,
We are studying Unit 1 (Matter). We are reviewing the content ( Atoms, Subatomic particles, and periodic table). It is important for students study the material given. It is also imperative that they are completing all homework assignments. 7th grade magnet students are required to complete a Science Fair Project. 8th grade has a choice of Science or Social Studies Project. Fort is celebrating its 40th birthday
Homework: (Due Sept. 22) NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!
Students are required to complete usatestprep modules: Atomic Structure, Subatomic particles, Periodic Table

Week of August 20 - 24
Welcome Parents and Students,
We are introducing our first unit Structure of Matter (Unit 1). Students were given a pretest on Unit 1 to check for prior knowledge. This week notes will be taken by students of information given on atoms, subatomic particles, ions, isotopes, atomic theory, periodic table, and much more as we travel through the standard and elements.
Students will be given a syllabus, explaining rituals/routines, rules/procedures, consequences/rewards, what expectations are required to have a successful year. I ask that they are returned by Friday August 24th. If your child does not already have a spiral tablet with the plastic cover, please see that they get one as soon as possible. The majority of our classroom assignments are inserted in to their ISN's/

Week of May 14 - 18
Hello Parents and Students,
Retesting for ELA and Math will begin this week.ELA testing is tomorrow and Math will be administered Tuesday. All make up work should have been turned in on Friday May 11th, if not will accept it on Monday.
Graduation practice will begin after retesting also.

We are continuing to remediate 8th grade students to make sure they are prepared in the event they may have to retake the GMAS (Georgia Milestones Assessment Systems). Please ensure students are completing the Science Packet. They are due to me on Wednesday, May 2nd.
