Reading: Read every night for 20 mins. Do two reading journal entries per week. Read memory words and dolch words as part of your daily reading.

Math: Do math assignments on addition and subtraction.

Writing: Write a story using as many pattern, memory and Dolch words that you can. Circle the memory, pattern and Dolch words that you used. Then underline the nouns. (person, place or thing)

1st and 2nd grade:
Reading: Read every night for 20 mins. Do 6 reading journal entries. (2 per week). Read pattern words, memory words and Dolch words. I have sent a ring with the Dolch words written on. Keep these at home and review every night. Read books and fluency passages.

Writing: Write a story using as many of the pattern words as possible. Write a telling and asking sentence for each memory and pattern word. then circle the nouns (person, place, or thing), underline the Proper Nouns (name of a person, place or thing), and put a box around the memory and pattern word. Do handwriting practice assignments.

Math: Do math assignments.
1st and 2nd grade:
1st week: 10/2-9/13
Write numbers 0-200 twice a week, write numbers counting by 2's, 5's and 10's up to 200 twice a week.

2nd week: 10/9-16/13
Practice addition facts up to 12. Write the addition facts once a week.

3rd week: 10/16-23/13
Practice subtraction facts up to 12. Write the subtraction facts once a week.

P.S. Cooking/science experiment money due by October 23rd (Wednesday). Book Blast cake decorating items due by Monday, October 28th.

Remember:
Proper Noun: is a special name for a person, place, or thing. For example: Isabella, Cielo- names of person
Wildlife Zoo, Peter Piper Pizza- names of a place
Fluffy, Spot-names of things (dogs)

Common Noun: is a person, place or thing.
For example: boy, girl, mom, dad-person
zoo, store, museum-places
chair, flag, table-things

P.S. We will be having our 1st cooking and science experiment next week. Please make sure your child has paid the fee of $2.00 by the end of the week or else he/she will not participate.
